Our Beliefs

TOTLC Vision, Mission, Culture and Structure

The Tabernacle of the Lord is a blended family of faith, growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ through the disciplines of worship, discipleship, fellowship, evangelism and service as guided by the Word of God.

  1. Vision: A Family of Faith (Ephesians 3:14-21, Psalm 68:6)
  2. Mission: Grow in grace (II Peter 3:18) through:

A. Worship (Loving God as a family): Conveying and displaying adoration and reverence for God in corporate and daily living contexts

B. Fellowship (Bonding as a family): Participating in the intentional building of beloved community with other believers/church members via social events

C. Evangelism (Expanding the family): Strategically engaging and lovingly encouraging unbelievers to experience the joy of God’s saving grace in Christ

D. Service/Special Events (Serving the family): Ministering to one another during significant events in the human life cycle (i.e., weddings, funerals, infant dedications, special celebrations)

E. Discipleship: Disciplined, developmental growth as followers of Jesus Christ

III. Motto: The Dwelling Place

A. The manifest presence of the Lord (Glory)

B. The miraculous power of the Lord (Preaching/teaching of the gospel) 

C. The people of the Lord (Worshipping Disciples) 

IV: Target Group: The Tabernacle is a dwelling place for people who are looking for healthy familial relationship with God and God’s people, especially (but not exclusively) those who have been disappointed, disconnected or wounded by familial issues.

V. Accompanying Ideology: Structural Family Therapy: Helping individuals by strengthening families, strengthening families by identifying and strengthening healthy family structures
